Antonio

Antonio

Co-Owner - Yonkers

Antonio has been working in the tri-state Cycling scene for the past 30+ years. He started fixing his own bike at the age of 12, by 13 he was working at his local shop in NYC and by 14 Antonio was a full blown mechanic, this is how the love affair began.

By the time Antonio was 19, he was working at one of the area's premier bike shops. The experience that he gained over the next 20 plus years has given him a tremendous amount of hands-on experience. From custom building, mechanics, merchandise selection, to managing a multi-store shop, Antonio has done it all. His deep love of the cycling culture has turned him into a self proclaimed 'bike guru'.

It has always been his goal to open his own store. With his business partner and mentor Howard, they opened Jen’s cycles Yonkers. Integrity, honesty, and commitment to being involved in the local cycling scene is the foundation of what the store is built on.

Brett

Brett

Store Manager Syosset

A Bike Racer, Father, and Bike Fitter...If he has an interest in it, he takes it to the ninth degree. After growing up racing motocross at a high level for many years Brett fell in love with cycling as a way of cross training which eventually turned out to be his main focus. In a very short period of time he became an accomplished racer across multiple disciplines, road, cyclocross and mountain.  As one can imagine Brett takes his training and his gear very seriously.  A few years ago, he decided to deep dive into the world of bicycle fitting and yes he became an expert at that as well.  Brett is now the manager of our Syosset location, if you are a cyclist on Long Island, it would serve you well to get to know him better. He is a tremendous resource for the cycling community and we here at Jen’s Cycles are grateful for it.

Alex

Alex

SERVICE MANAGER

Alex brought his own tools to work on his first day at The Bicycle Planet in 1999.  Growing up in El Salvador, working in his parents’ bike shop, Alex started wrenching when he was only 15 years old.  Today he commutes 38 miles to work round trip on his Soma which has steel fenders - this is not a light commuter!

Alex loves to ride, loves bikes, and has crazy bike habits. He has all the perfect qualities to run a tranquil yet efficient shop.

Another wonderful quality that Alex possesses is an innate drive to pursue mechanical perfection.  He sets the bar high for both himself, and through example, for the rest of the team.  Alex simply won’t cut corners - despite the sometimes gentle prodding by the owner that maybe the mechanics should work a touch faster!  It might be one of the reasons why he has his own fanatical following who insist on his presence when they bring in their bike for service.

Alex’s Bikes:  Specialized Fatboy, Giant Trance, Soma Saga, Gary Fisher Sugar, Trek Madone, Soma Smoothie
